A “Me First” Morning Practice can redirect our entire day.
I personally prefer to call it my “Morning Groove” as I rebel a bit against the word “Routine” but whatever your preference!
Great advice is to streamline your life – the first and the last hour are the most important. Daily mindset practice is ongoing work and as important as sleep, exercise, eating healthily – when the chips are down you double it down. As if you are training for a mental marathon every day.
1-2-3 HEARTFUL MORNING
If you win the first hour of the day you win the day. When we open our eyes, we can choose to align with the Universe through spiritual practice and exercise OR we can pick up our phone, turn on the news, grab a coffee and rush around. Which do you do?
Follow a “Me First” Morning Practice
This starts your day in alignment and sustains feel-good emotions throughout the day. I see this as my “Power-Hour” and however long yours is, and however early you have to get up to have “Me-Time” you will really reap the benefits. This single, simple shift in behaviour can redirect our entire day.

WHILST STILL IN BED
1 Heart Connection.
Karen Drucker, the wonderful Californian spiritual singer, and songwriter, advises starting each day with our hands on our hearts and reciting the Buddhist prayer ‘May I be filled with loving-kindness, may I be well, may I be peaceful and at ease, may I be happy’ And really listen to what your heart has to say.
Then turn this lovely consciousness towards your Tricky Person. “May you be filled with loving-kindness, may you be well, may you be peaceful and at ease, may you be happy’
How do I want to show up today? Which energy am I choosing to bring today? What good can I do today? In your mind run through a couple of key touchpoints of your day and how they will play out, with positive intent.
Think of 3 things you are grateful for and WHY?
THEN ONCE UP (BEFORE YOU TOUCH YOUR PHONE OR COMPUTER!)
Music & Movement
Blast out your favourite song(s) and crazy dance as if no one is watching. As many as you have time for. Or a yoga routine. Or going for a run. Whatever is your thing and mix it up when you get bored. This will raise your energetic vibration.
